The aircraft is only one part of being ready to fly.

Site suitability, airspace, training, weather, charging, transport, storage, maintenance, insurance, and local law all belong in the purchase decision.

Buyer journey

From consultation to handoff.

    Mission and site review

    Document pilot mass, intended use, elevation, seasonal temperature, wind exposure, airspace, launch area, charging, storage, and transport.

  2. 02

    Preliminary configuration

    Choose a package and identify battery, control, telemetry, lighting, finish, emergency equipment, and ground-support options.

  3. 03

    Engineering and compliance review

    Confirm target performance, mass allocation, operating limitations, applicable aircraft category, and any documentation needed in the destination jurisdiction.

  4. 04

    Production agreement

    Approve the final build specification, exclusions, price, payment milestones, test plan, estimated schedule, warranty, and acceptance criteria.

  5. 05

    Training and delivery

    Complete owner orientation, simulator or practical training as applicable, preflight and abnormal-procedure review, acceptance inspection, and handoff.

Owner readiness

Plan the operating system around the aircraft.

Launch area

Use a level, clear area with defined rotor separation, approach paths, spectator control, and no loose debris.

Charging

Confirm circuit capacity, connector type, ventilation, temperature, emergency isolation, and charging supervision.

Storage

Protect the aircraft and batteries from moisture, extreme temperature, impact, unauthorized access, and long-term state-of-charge damage.

Transport

Use approved restraints and covers, protect rotors and electronics, and complete a post-transport inspection before flight.

Weather

Establish limits for wind, gust spread, precipitation, visibility, temperature, density altitude, and nearby convective activity.

Maintenance

Track life-limited items, battery condition, fastener torque, propeller condition, firmware versions, faults, and inspection sign-off.

United States context

Part 103 is specific, not automatic.

The FAA states that a qualifying ultralight vehicle does not require a pilot certificate, but it remains subject to 14 CFR Part 103. The rule is for a single occupant and recreation or sport use, and includes limits on empty weight, maximum level-flight capability, stall speed, operating time, airspace, congestion, visibility, and cloud clearance.

An electric eVTOL is not automatically Part 103 compliant because it has one seat or because software limits speed. The final as-built mass, configuration, performance, use, and operating environment must be reviewed.
